Axel Springer Digital Ventures is Axel Springer Groups' early-stage investment arm in Europe and in the US. The investment focus is on classified ad models / marketplaces, marketing models and companies in the digital publishing space. Drawing upon the network and resources of one of Europe's leading largest media companies, Axel Springer Digital Ventures wants to be a value-add partner to companies that are complementary or disruptive to Axel Springer's business. Axel Springer Group, founded in 1946, is Europe’s largest digital publishing house with leading positions in the European print and digital content as well as in the digital marketing and classifieds segments. Based on the historically strong positions of BILD and DIE WELT in the German newspaper segment, Axel Springer has embarked on a determined growth strategy to digitize and internationalize its business already more than a decade ago. Axel Springer's digital media revenues in more than 40 countries worldwide already contribute almost 70 percent of total revenues today (compared to 2% in 2006).
