Originally rooted in earlier Baldwin County incubation efforts in Robertsdale, Hatch Fairhope was officially launched in 2020 as a convergence point for tech, biotech, and creative entrepreneurs. Supported by the Baldwin Community and Economic Development Foundation, the City of Fairhope, and regional universities, it operates as a launchpad designed to reverse the "brain drain" in South Alabama. Hatch is distinctive for its focus on building a robust local ecosystem without trying to copy Silicon Valley, instead leveraging the Gulf Coast's quality of life to attract startups from across the country. They are currently undergoing a major expansion, transforming the historic K-1 Center into a 36,000 sq ft innovation hub set to open in 2026.
