What they do

The EIT is a unique EU body integrating business, education, and research to foster innovation. It funds independent Knowledge and Innovation Communities (KICs), each focused on a specific global challenge. These KICs act as specialized VC funds and accelerators, taking equity stakes, providing grants, and offering operational support to startups. The EIT ecosystem has supported over 9,900 ventures, which have collectively raised over €9.5 billion in external capital.

The EIT aims to strengthen Europe's ability to innovate by funding solutions to major societal challenges.
