GOKAP Invest was established by key figures from GU Ventures and Göteborg Corporate Finance to democratize access to early-stage deal flow. Unlike a traditional VC fund, GOKAP is structured as an evergreen investment company owned by approximately 300 shareholders. They act as a strategic regional partner, almost exclusively co-investing with GU Ventures and other West Swedish actors to support the Västra Götaland innovation ecosystem. Their model provides startups with patient capital and a broad network of minority shareholders while offering investors access to vetted university spinouts.

What they look for

GOKAP’s primary thesis is to support and accelerate innovations originating from West Sweden (Västra Götaland). They focus on companies with strong growth potential that address global challenges, particularly in health, sustainability, and technology. They have a strong preference for companies emerging from incubators like GU Ventures, Chalmers Ventures, or Sahlgrenska Science Park, and almost always co-invest.
