What they do

Hangar 51 is the global innovation program of International Airlines Group (IAG), one of the worlds largest airline groups. Launched in 2016, the accelerator partners with startups and scale-ups to find solutions for key challenges in the aviation industry. The program offers different tracks, including a 12-week Deploy program for startups with ready-to-test solutions and a 24-week Discover track for early-stage deep tech startups. Hangar 51 focuses on strategic areas such as Sustainability, Safe & Efficient Operations, Seamless & Experiential Airports, and End-to-End Customer Experience Enhancement. Selected companies get to test their technology under operational conditions, work with experts across the IAG group (which includes British Airways, Iberia, and Aer Lingus), and may receive potential investment from IAGs venture arm.

IAGi invests to transform the aviation industry by integrating startups directly into their operations. Their primary goal is strategic value-finding solutions that reduce costs, improve customer experience, or help the group meet its net-zero targets.
