Shell Ventures is the corporate venture capital arm of Shell, founded in 1996. The firm makes minority investments, with typical initial check sizes ranging from $2 million to $5 million, and up to $15-22 million over the investment lifecycle. In November 2021, Shell established a $1.4 billion fund for Shell Ventures to support innovative companies working on the energy transition. The venture arm not only provides capital but also offers access to Shells technical expertise, R&D facilities, and global network to help portfolio companies scale.
