Overview
What they do
The New York New Media Association (NYNMA) was a prominent non-profit trade association founded in 1994 to support the burgeoning "Silicon Alley" tech ecosystem in NYC. In 1997, NYNMA launched its Angel Investors Program, sponsored by the law firm Hale and Dorr LLP, to connect promising startups with experienced angel investors via monthly breakfast pitches. By the peak of the dot-com boom, the program had facilitated over $10 million in seed funding. Following the dot-com crash, NYNMA was absorbed by the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) in 2004, and the angel program's active members, led by David S. Rose, spun out to form the highly successful New York Angels.
