FAQ
Is there a Paris fund that backs only AI? None of the seven describes itself that way. RAISE groups part of its seed portfolio under "Logiciels IA / SaaS" on its own site, Elaia names AI inside the first focus area of its Deep Tech Seed 3 fund, and off the list Motier Ventures invests up to €300k early and calls AI a transversal expertise.
I am pre-product, or spinning out of a lab. Who takes that? Frst says it makes most of its decisions in two meetings and 48 hours, before a company is incorporated. Partech Seed invests as early as day 1, Kima writes a single 150k ticket into around 100 new deals a year, and Elaia's deep tech seed fund starts at pre-seed. Innov'up funds research without taking equity.
How were these investors chosen? Each has a dated investment in the area within the last 24 months, invests at pre-seed, seed or Series A, has made a new investment within the last 18 months, and has either a stated AI focus or an AI deal within the last 24 months. The area here is the Métropole du Grand Paris, meaning Ville de Paris plus Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne, which is why Colombes and Vanves are inside it and why Paris-Saclay, which sits in Essonne in the grande couronne, is outside. Every company's location was resolved on its registered office rather than on a press dateline. Selection among the funds that pass is a judgement about range and usefulness to an early-stage AI founder rather than a ranking.
